Stearns, Roth, and Cacek continue to power team through season
The GT/RA wrestlers traveled to Lake View Thursday night for a triple-header dual with Alta-Aurelia, East Sac County, and Kingsley-Pierson, coming home with two dual wins. Cade Stearns leads the way with three pin-falls.
In the first dual against Alta/Aurelia, the Titans and Warriors each split forfeits five a piece and the match wins were split with two pins going to each team. The Titans earned wins from Cade Stearns (Fall 1:27) and Cormick Currans (Fall 3:20) in addition to the forfeits which brought the score to an even 42-42. The decision went to tie-breaking criteria, where the Titans scored the most first points, giving them a 43-42 victory.
East Sac County took the victory in the second dual of the night with a final score of 60-21 over the Titans. The forfeitures of the Titans gave East Sac a 36 point advantage, with the Titans getting wins from Spencer Roth (Dec 4-0) and Cade Stearns (Fall 2:32) in addition to two forfeits.
The final dual of the night for the Titans ended with a victory over Kingsley-Pierson 34-30. The Titans earned four wins from Cade Stearns (Fall 1:20), Cormick Currans (Fall 0:34), Andrew Kral (Fall1:03), and Spencer Roth (MD 11-3). This gave them the edge 4-2 in matches that were left after the forfeits from each team and the victory on the night.
The Titans will take the mat on Monday, January 20 in the Twin Lakes Conference Tournament instead of Saturday January 18 due to weather conditions.
