Titan teams continue to fight hard, but unable to put together a victory against PAC.
The Titan basketball teams traveled to Pocahontas Thursday night to take on the Indians, but were unable to come away with a victory in the boys or girls games.
In the girls’ game, senior Madison Hough led the way for the Titans with 30 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Mercedes DePyper added 8 points with her biggest contribution coming from the 11 rebounds she was able to snag for the girls’ squad. The Titans and Indians battled the whole way through heading into halftime with a score of 28-27 in favor of the Titans.
Following the halftime break, the battle continued through the third quarter with the Indians taking the lead by one going into the fourth quarter. The final quarter proved to be a shootout with both teams scoring 20+ points as the Titans were unable to overcome the Indians, losing 60-57. The Titans fall to 3-10 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.
The Titan boys basketball team was unable to overcome the Indians and earn their first conference win of the season. Despite coming off of a victory against North Union, the Titan boys could not seem to get their offense going in this one as the Indians proved victorious carrying the momentum from their win against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. The Titans fall to 4-8 on the season and have yet to earn a victory against conference opponents this year.
The Titan girls basketball team will be hosting Harris-Lake Park for a home match-up on Monday January 20 with the game starting at 6:00PM.
The Titan boys will play host to Alta-Aurelia on Tuesday January 21 with the start time of 7:30PM.
