New Year, New Direction For GTRA

Titans look to start fresh in the new year traveling to ELC

The GT/RA girls and boys basketball teams look to come out of the winter break against ELC in a doubleheader and the first contest of the year for these teams.

The girls basketball team intends to end the offensive struggles against a tough ELC squad who went in to the break with victories over Storm Lake and Spirit Lake in their last two. The Titan girls went into the break dropping their last four averaging only 42.8 points a game this season.

The ELC squad won the last match-up between these teams in 2018 and holds the historical match-ups 4-3. The girls ended 2019 with a record of 2-6, as they go up against the 7-2 ELC girls.

The Titan men are also hoping to turn it around coming off of a two game losing streak against the ELC team that has been struggling in their last few match-ups dropping the last three.

Statistically both of these teams are well matched in terms of averages, with a slight advantage to the Titans in shooting percentage. The ELC team has won the last two match-ups with the Titans and holds the series 3-1. The boys team ended 2019 with a record of 3-4 matching the ELC boys.

This doubleheader will take place in Estherville with a tip-off time of 6:15PM for the girls game, with the boys game to follow afterwards on January 7th.
