Titan wrestlers host Sioux Central, Alta Aurelia at home
The GT/RA Titans welcomed Alta/Aurelia and Sioux Central to their mat on Thursday night. They started the double dual off against the Alta Aurelia wrestlers. The first match of the night was a victory for Cade Stearns by fall(2:57) bringing the score to 12-6 after the first two classes were split between the teams due to forfeits.
Connor Jensen took the next victory with a quick fall over Caden Stites from Alta/Aurelia in a time of 45 seconds. Following that was another victory for the Titans by way of fall from Cormick Currans, ending that midway through the second period(3:01). The next four matches were open classes for Alta/Aurelia, which put this one out of reach as the Titans ended with a score of 48-30.
The final dual of night against Sioux Central started at the 120-pound weight class as Cade Stearns earned his second fall of night over Sioux Central’s D’Angelo Love in 28 seconds giving him two falls for the night in under a minute. Jordan Saul for GT/RA grabbed the next victory by disqualification followed by a pin from Connor Jensen with 17 seconds to go in the first period.
Spencer Roth brought in the final win for GT/RA on the night with a fall over Connor Lathrope in the second period of the match. Cormick Currains (GT/RA) turned in a 1-1 night with a tough loss by 15-10 decision to Brendan Baier (Sioux Central). The final score in this one ended at 48-30 in favor of the Titans.
The Titan wrestlers advance to 7-10 in dual matches and will be taking the mat this Saturday the 21st In Britt, Iowa, as they participate in the Al DeLeon Invitational.
