Red hot Okoboji team quell Titans
The Titan girls struggled offensively from the beginning in this one in a loss to the Pioneers. The offensive struggles were shadowed as the Pioneers offense went on a roll as they ended the game with a 54.7% Field Goal percentage compared to the Titans 26.7%. It was one of the classic games where one team comes out on fire and the other, not so much. In addition to the offensive struggles, a major disadvantage came in the form of rebounds as the differential between the two were 29 rebounds.
The Pioneers came out and put up 46 points in the first half to the Titans 19 and halftime did not give any aid as the Pioneers came right back out with the same intensity as the first half. The final came to an end at 78-33 in favor of the Pioneers.
Madison Hough led the scoring for the Titans with 13 points, Mackenzie Hoffman added seven with four steals, and Ally Hanson added five steals on the defensive end. The girls drop to 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
The Titan Boys team did not fare any better against the Pioneers, as their offense also came out on fire. The Pioneers put up 43 in the first half as the Titans could only put up 19. It continued after halftime until the fourth quarter as the Titans finally got some life in them, but it was too late in this one as they fall to the Pioneers 74-45. The boys drop to 3-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
Both these teams head to East Sac County Friday night hoping to bounce back with a tip-off time of 6:00PM, with the boys to follow after the conclusion of the first one.
