G-T/R-A defeats WB-M in 10th meeting
The Graettinger-Terril boy’s basketball team defeated the West-Bend Mallard Wolverines with a final score of 51-34 in the season opener.
The control of this one was never in doubt as they kept the Wolverines from scoring at all in the first quarter, and held them to just 12 points by the end of the second quarter.
Headed into the second half of the game, the Titans came out extending the five point lead to fifteen by the end of the third. The dominant performance by the Titans proved to be too much for the Wolverines to get back into it.
The Titans were led by freshman Guard Max Hough on both sides of the ball with 20 points, six assists, nine rebounds, and six steals. Hough wasn’t alone though as senior Kadin Norris put up 10 points with six rebounds. The two sophomores, Dalton Young and Blake Rosacker, put up a combined
17 points. Freshman Kory Hough came off the bench to grab three steals to keep the Titans in the lead throughout this one.
The Titans beat the Wolverines for the tenth straight time and
advance to 1-0 in their season opener. Their next game will be
this Friday, December 6, against the Emmetsburg E-Hawks, who suffered a loss in their home opener to Cherokee Washington. Tip off for this game will take place at the Ruthven-Ayrshire school at 8:00PM.
