Emmetsburg Volleyball Takes Regional Semi-Final

Set Scores: 25-20, 14-25, 25-20, and 25-22

The Emmetsburg E-Hawk Volleyball team took to the floor on October 31st to compete in the Regional Semi-Final. The E-Hawks squared off against a 17-19 Pocahontas Area Indian team.

The E-Hawks, who are now sitting at a solid 20-11 record, set the pace with a 25-20 win in the first set. Pocahontas came roaring back, however, winning the second by 25-24. Still unwilling to allow the Indians to make any more headway, the E-Hawks finished out the game going 25-20 and then 25-22 in the final two sets taking the game 3-1 (25-20, 14-25, 25-20, and 25-22).

Senior Molly Schany, who had just been honored with her 1,000th kill on October 15, led the team again with a total of 17. Counterpart Abbie Schany, a junior, gave the team an additional 13 kills.

Sophomore Raegan Swanson earned the team 6 of the total 11 aces on the night off of serves. The team set a 0.932 serve efficiency on the night after attempting 88 and being successful 82 of those times. The team will head to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura on Tuesday, 11/5, to play against Osage in the Regional Final.
